to Assess Storm Damaged Trees and Forests
Landowners can get professional forestry advice to assess the damage done to their forests and trees. Scott Fischer, the DNR forester for Manitowoc County, will be helping landowners (that own 5 acres of forest land or more) in several ways:
∑ Assess current damage done to the forest
∑ Help landowners decide which trees should be salvaged, which can stay
∑ Help landowners sell damaged trees
∑ Discuss options for the future of the damaged forests
Scott Fischer can be contacted for an appointment or advice at (920) 755-4984. He has placed this as his top priority and will be bringing in other foresters to help give prompt and professional service to the landowners that have already suffered loss to their forest resource.
A word of warning, please contact a professional forester before you sign a contract with a logger or verbally commit to anything!
Landowners can get professional forestry advice to assess the damage done to their yard trees. Linda Williams, the Forest Health Specialist, will be available to help landowners in several ways:
∑ Assess current damage done to yard and village trees
∑ Help landowners decide if damaged trees are high risk
∑ Give advice on pruning to keep trees healthy
∑ Discuss options for the future of the damaged trees
